OUR STERLING SILVER KEY CARE

Sterling silver is a luxurious and precious metal. Our Sterling silver keys are casted in a 925 Sterling silver. Normally Sterling silver will not tarnish, especially when used often and will continue to keep its fresh look longer with proper care.

CLEANING YOUR SILVER KEYS

Our Silver keys should be cleaned professionally although you can easily give them light touch- up between servicing.

If your silver keys are adorned with Gems we recommend that you check your keys regularly to make sure settings are snug and secure.

NEVER IMMERSE IN WATER!

We recommend cleaning your silver keys by hand with a clean damp cloth { Void of nubs } with a mild detergent occasionally. This is because many acids and gases in the air can have a corrosive effect. To avoid spotting, it is important to dry your silver immediately after cleaning.

POLISHING YOUR SILVER KEYS

We recommend using a good quality, non-abrasive silver polish. Some “dip” polishes contain harsh chemicals and should be avoided.

NEVER USE ELECTROLYTIC CLEANING

(aluminum foil, salt and baking soda in a water base)

It is not recommended.

Start by using a soft cotton cloth { void of nubs } to apply the polish being careful not to allow the polish to get into the crevices. Rub each piece gently but firmly lengthwise, using straight, even strokes. You may also use a small toothbrush with natural bristles for fine details or borders in. Clean with a sudsy damp cloth several times till all polish is removed. wipe with a clean damp cloth several times to remove all residue. Dry thoroughly and buff gently with a soft cloth. If you are not using your keys on a daily basis we recommend storing them in bags made of protective silver tarnish proof cloth.

CLEANING YOUR GOLD KEYS

It is easy to give your gold jewelry keys a light touch-up. Clean with a sudsy damp cloth {void of nubs} several times making sure not to allow sudsy water into the crevices. You may also use a small toothbrush with natural bristles for fine details or borders. Rinse with a clean damp cloth several times to remove all soap residue. Dry thoroughly and buff gently with a soft cloth. If you are not using your keys on a daily basis we recommend storing them in bags made of protective cloth.

PLEASE DO NOT IMMERSE YOUR LUXE KEYS IN WATER OR OTHER LIQIUD.

This could allow moisture into the cavity and cause severe damage to your keys.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE YOUR KEY FOR ANY REASON

Please not attempt to disassemble your key to clean.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT KEY CHAIN

We recommend using a key chain ring with a tension lock or a barrel key ring that screws and unscrews by sliding up and down to open. These key rings allow your keys to slide onto the key ring easily and can help avoid damaging your keys. Another option is a horseshoe key ring or lobster key ring although you must make sure that the lock on your key ring is secure.

Please avoid using a split key ring. This type of key ring will scratch your keys as you try to add keys to the ring.
